Riverside dining with a Midlands story

Plan a Caversham Mill visit with a little Midlands history, the Lions River setting and a look at the restaurant menu.

Riverside dining with a Midlands story

Some outings are worth leaving space for. Start with a drive through the Midlands, choose a place to stop and let the meal be part of the day rather than a hurried break between plans.

A setting with a past

At Caversham Mill, the landscape comes with a story. The original mill was built in 1852–53 beside the Lions River. The property also has a place in the Midlands Meander story, which began here in 1984. Read more on Caversham Mill's history page.

That history gives you something to notice as you arrive: the river, the bridge and the sense of a place that has seen many chapters. Bring someone who enjoys a good story and let the conversation begin there.

Let the menu shape the visit

Browse the current menu before setting off. It covers breakfast, lighter meals, seafood, pasta, burgers, curries and desserts, so you can plan the kind of stop you have in mind. Ask the team about availability and mention any dietary requirements when booking.

Leave room for good company

There is no need to pack every minute of the outing. Choose a time that works for your group, settle around the table and enjoy the setting together. A favourite meal, a conversation and a little breathing room can be the whole plan.
